I'll admit, I'm feeling a little discouraged right now. I had thought for sure we'd have our homestudy completed and turned in by June. Now, it is mid-July and we are still trying to complete the background checks for our homestudy. At this point we'll be lucky if we have our approval returned from USCIS before Christmas. It is possible, but I'm afraid unlikely.
Sometimes I look around and think, "Why am I doing this, again?" I guess I just need a little encouragement that the Lord's timing will be perfect and will bring us our Junebug at just the right time. I also just need a little general encouragement not to get disappointed by these minor setbacks, but to keep our eye on the finish line!
I think it is time to go blast our Armenian music - it always makes me happy!

Hi Kerry,
I know how frustrated you must feel. While I am sure you were open to experiencing some delays, you surely were not expecting it so early in the process. I pray that the rest of the process is seamless.
Sonia
My dear wife,
I know you are yearning with the desire only a mother's heart can rouse. Please do not be discouraged! I know these setbacks are disappointing, but they are to be expected and are part of His plan. How much sweeter will the homecoming be, how much grander the joy, if we have persevered and fought for her longer!
A couple verses come to mind - I hope they put your heart at rest within the Lord's loving shelter:
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Is 26:3
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Rm 8:28
Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD. Ps 27:14
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Ps 37:4
May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed. Ps 20:4
I write this as much to reassure you, as myself. :) Let us take refuge in what the Lord gives us to do each day, and in the comfort of each other's arms as we share this journey.
I love you.
Sonia - I think you hit the nail on the head here - I just didn't expect it so early in the process! :)
Hubby - thanks, dear. You are a gem. :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have friends who have adopted abroad and it seems like quite a long process, but worth it in the end when you can hold your child in your arms.

Hey Kerry,
Would love to chat you with and tell you about when I was trying to complete my dossier. I received the initial app from CWA in June 2004 and was not DTC (dossier to China) until August 2005 and then it wasnt' logged in until Sept. 2005!
Give me a buzz sometime. You should be able to find my number on the yahoo group. If not email me and I'll send it to you.

ps. Missed you at the reunion!
Thank you Steph and Julie! It was so awesome to be with you in China - and really, that is what is keeping me going! I've seen the other side and it is definitely worth it.
