Our Homestudy is COMPLETE!

Yea!!!
Our homestudy is finally COMPLETE!

All the paperwork has been received, financials have been reviewed and confirmed and edits have been done. The final copies arrived in the mail yesterday. I thought about waiting until we had a celebratory photo to publish the news, but I couldn't wait!

We are a couple of months behind our "schedule", but we know we are right on time according to God's schedule.

Next step is the i800 application for the US Citizenship & Immigration Service. This application is to get the US government's approval to bring an orphan into the country. The processing times for the i800 differ from USCIS office to USCIS office. Our branch is running at about 120 days. So, if all goes well - we should have our i800 submitted next week, and we should have our approval by mid-December. What an AWESOME Christmas gift that would be!

While we wait we'll be using the time to gather the rest of our dossier documentation - no small feat - and to work on our education requirements (online classes, books, interviews, cultural events/info).

We've update the prayer list in the sidebar, so if you are an email or RSS reader, you might want to visit the blog homepage to see those changes. Thank you SO MUCH for your prayers - they are truly blessing to our family.
