Little E's 8th Birthday!

Well, it wasn't quite what she'd planned (breakfast out with daddy, movie with a friend and mommy), but she says it was maybe even better.

She's been hoping for snow on her birthday and while we didn't get much, we got enough to enjoy.

She started her birthday out with a quick run in the "snow" - which was mostly icy, but fun anyway.  Then she and Daddy made pancakes for the whole family...and they were delicious!

Little E even got to flip a few herself.  She's pretty good at it, too.

We watched some cars go sliding by on the ice...and a couple crazy teenagers who had rigged up bicycles with skateboards where the wheels had been.  Quite entertaining.

Then Little E had a scavenger hunt to find her first present from middle son H... earrings hidden in the egg carton!

In the early afternoon, Daddy and the three older kids walked down to the corner to get candy for the evening's movie night (a tradition).  Little E got to be pulled on a sled the whole way!  They got home and were little icicles, but  were thawed out quickly with some hot cocoa.

A few more presents (tape, paper, and a new piggy webkin) and we ended the day with a special dinner (salmon and lima beans - two of her favorites), delicious cake (orange cake with chocolate frosting) and a movie night.

She says it was one of her best birthdays ever.
